  1. Stumbled over your blog while searching for something. You write well. I think the pressure to conform is not just limited to India. I live in the US and my four year old refuses to touch anything pink- it’s somehow drilled in his head that as a boy, he should have nothing to do with pink, purple, etc. I remember growing up in Patna, colour was not something we even thought about. In fact, the brighter it was, the better it was. As a boy, I had a red-pink shirt as late as class 10.
